Welcome to The Game Chambers Middle Earth Strategy Battle Game November Tournament!
Entry is $20 with Full and Elite Members getting $5 back (ask us for more details about memberships). Hitting "Going" on this event does not secure your spot. Payment must be received in store or through here.
Armies must be 600 points or less with the tournament consisting of 3 rounds. The only banned model is Tom Bombadil.
Registration begins at 10am with First Round starting promptly at 10:30am.
All entry fees collected will be used as prizing for the event.
Full and Elite members get $5 back on their account. We will be checking our database to confirm this information.
We will be hosting a 1000 point 40k tournament on Sunday, November 1. This is designed to be a fun event so while it is still a tournament, prizing is more relaxed. There will be 4 equal prizes, 2 raffled off to the top half of the rankings, 1 raffled off to the bottom half of the rankings, and 1 raffled off for the Crowd Favourite (vote for your favourite army for whatever reason, most voted army wins). Entry fee is $15 with a max of 16 spots due to Covid (Full and Elite members get $5 back, message us to find out more!). You can either pay in store or through here to secure your spot. Calling us to put your name down does not guarantee you a spot.
Please show up at 12:00pm or a bit before as Game 1 will start promptly at 12:15pm. Each game will have a 2 hour time limit with a number of rounds proportional to the amount of people that show up. Bring at least one paper copy of your list for your opponent. There might be sporadic list checks so be prepared; disqualifications have happened in the past!
We will be using the GT Incursion missions, the new CA2020 points and the smaller table sizes. We will not be scoring painting either so each game will be out of 90 points. If you don't have the points or the GT missions send us a message! Masks ARE required and bring your own dice, objectives, pens, measuring tapes, pen, etc.
Don't forget that in tournaments, warlord traits, pre-game stratagems and psychic powers must stay the same the entire tournament. No switching up allowed.
All of the collected entry fees will be split into 4 equal prizes to be raffled off. 2 prizes will be raffled off to the top half finishers in the rankings, 1 prize will be raffled off to the bottom half finishers in the rankings and 1 prize will be raffled off to the Crowd Favourite which will be voted on during the tournament
This will be checked against our database so be truthful.
The Game Chamber's November 40k Tournament will be held on November 21, 2020. Entry fee is $20 with a max of 16 spots due to Covid (Full and Elite members get $5 back, message us to find out more!). Please show up at 10:00 am or a bit before as we always start Game 1 by about 10:15 am. Each game will be 3 hours with 30 minutes for lunch after Game 1.
Please bring at least one paper copy of your list for your opponent. There might be sporadic list checks so be prepared; disqualifications have happened in the past!
We will be using the GT missions, the new CA2020 points and the smaller table sizes. That is how 9th is "intended" to be played so we will start with all of that for now. We will not be scoring painting either, so each game will be out of 90. If you don't have the points or the GT missions send me a PM! Masks ARE required and bring your own dice, objectives, pens, measuring tapes, pen, etc.
Don't forget that in tournaments, warlord traits, pre-game strats, psyker powers, all of that is set in stone. You can't change it game to game. If your army is painted battle ready (as per the core rulebook-aka painted 3 colour minimum) you will be entered into a draw to win a prize. If you also have a display board you get a 2nd entry! That way, there is something for painting but it won't affect the actual games score.
All of the money that the store receives will be given back as store credit for prizing. Top 3 split the pool with an additional prize for the winner of the painting raffle.
Full and Elite members will receive $5 store credit back into their account. We will be checking this answer with our database.
This will be a 500 point skirmish tournament using the new Star Wars Legion Skirmish rules put out by Fantasy Flight Games. Swiss pairing will be used along with the basic structure for number of rounds as listed in the rulebook. Entry fee will be $15 with Full Members and up receiving $5 back into their account.
All of the entry fees that the store receives for the tournament will be given back as store credit for prizing for the Top 3 finishers.
This will be checked with our database so be truthful.
Come out and play some 9th Edition Warhammer 40k! With a GC branded swagbag guaranteed for week 1 and prizing for painting and sportsmanship in addition to ranking, this league is perfect for new, returning, and experienced players alike.
This league is designed to get people to play games in a casual environment. As there are no set lists for the entire league, you can experiment with all kinds of combos and lists.
Entry is $20 with $5 off for Full and Elite members. Tickets can be purchased in store or through here. The deadline for registration is November 1, 2020.
A primary faction must be declared with 25% of your points in that faction. For example, if your primary faction is Space Marines, you must have 25% of your points in Space Marines. The rest can change as wanted.
For those who have less than 2000 points of a faction but still want to participate, we will be making a special "variable point" bracket. You will still receive the swagbag but will not be eligible for the painting, sportsmanship or ranking prize. This bracket is designed for beginners who are just looking to play more games.
Length of the league will be based on the number of players but we will try to make it 8 weeks, then playoffs for 3 weeks per round.
Brackets will be random except we will divide the factions for so each bracket has some variety in it. Number of brackets and players per bracket will depend on entry in the league.
Each game you play:
Rank opponent out of 5 for painting score. Rank opponent out of 5 for sportsmanship score. Prizes at the end for first place in each of these categories (not including playoff rounds). Please be honest and fair when you're giving out rankings. If you give all 5's round after round I will question you about it and possibly take points from you.
Games will be out of 90 points as the 10 for having a painted army is already covered in the painting prize. Top players from each bracket move on to playoff rounds, final winner gets a prize.
Painting Score (average tournament army should likely be a 3)
1 Are the models based
1 Is the basing above average, thematic, scenic
1 Are the models primed
1 Are the models 3 colour tournament standard minimum
1 Are the models amazingly painted, way above average
Total out of 5
In the case of a tie, the winners will send photos to Tim, Jordan and myself to Judge and declare a winner.
Sportsmanship score (average player is hopefully a 3 or a 4)
1 Opponent was on time and ready to play
1 Opponent was easy to arrange games with
1 Opponent was polite, nice and didn't argue every rule
1 Opponent was fun to play against and you would like to play them in the future
1 Opponent was the best person to play against and you would want to play them over anyone else you have ever played with
Total out of 5.
In the case of a tie, the winners will share the prize.
One prize will be given to first place of each of the 3 categories Sportsmanship, Painting, and Ranking.
The Variable Points bracket is not eligible for any prizes and designed purely for people who have less than 2000pts who want to play more games.
