Paint Or Die!

NEXT EVENT - OCTOBER 2026: https://www.thegamechamber.com/collections/events/products/october-paint-or-die-ticket

What Is Paint Or Die?
This ain't your Grand Pappy's Slow Grow. We understand the difficult commitment a full slow grow can be, so Paint Or Die is a month-long event where we want you to paint 1 'Unit' to as high a standard as you can.

How Much Does It Cost?
$15. Think of this entry fee as a 'wager'; you're betting that you'll complete your paint project within the allotted time. When you do, we'll turn that $15 into $20 Store Credit. You'll also receive a one-time voucher for 15% off paint products, AND your model will be entered into a showcase for a chance to win 'Best Painted' for an additional prize of a $30 Gift Card! You'll also have an awesomely painted new unit... not bad for a month's work!

What Can I Paint?
We are looking for a 'unit' to be painted within the month... This can be a squad of  5 Space Marine Intercessors from 40k, a Protoss Immortal from Starcraft, a selection of 6 Iron Sultanate Azebs from Trench Crusade... the options are pretty much endless, and what will be counted as a 'unit' is fairly flexible... but roughly, we would expect this number of models based on base sizes:

  • 40mm Or Under - At least 5 Models
  • 50mm/60mm - At least 2 Models
  • 80mm + - At least 1 Model

This is a guide; if you're unsure whether your chosen project is 'enough' to paint, please reach out to us!

What Do I Need To Do?
Bring your model in, unpainted (built & primed in a single colour is fine), into the store on the start date. Once we've checked it, you can begin painting. (You can bring the model in after the start date, but obviously this will leave you less time to complete it). At this point, you'll receive a 15% off paint voucher for a single transaction.

Then, bring your model back into the store, in all its painted glory, no later than the end date. On completion, you'll receive $20 Store Credit, and your model will be placed with the other entries to be judged for the $30 'Best Painted' award. After that, you'll be able to collect your model at your earliest convenience. You can, if you wish, abstain from the competition aspect, but we encourage everyone to submit their models; the feedback of fresh eyes is often very valuable!

OCTOBER DATES:
Entry: On or after Friday 2nd October
End: No later than Saturday 30th October (to be judged on 31st October)

We look forward to seeing what you do and seeing some of that pile of grey shame get a little smaller! We plan to run this event bimonthly; please let us know if you have any feedback!

Thanks,
The Game Chamber Team
